Raritan Twp Police Dept Press Release: August 25, 2020

THE FACT THAT A PERSON HAS BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED DOES NOT IMPLY THAT HE OR SHE IS GUILTY. ALL PERSONS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.

On July 24, 2020 at 9:30 pm Officers responded to the area of Westminster Place for a report of an assault. The assault occurred when two men who were also neighbors returned home after having gone out together. After exiting the vehicle Craig R. Becker (Age 56) of Flemington, NJ struck the victim in the head with a cement landscape turtle. According to officers on scene Becker was visibly intoxicated. It is unknown what prompted the assault. The victim was treated on-scene for his injuries. Becker was charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes (Cement Turtle). Officer Connor Gallagher filed the charges.

On July 25, 2020 at 10:20 pm Christopher D. Mino (Age 34) of Branchburg, NJ was arrested for Possession of CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Hypodermic Needle. Mino was the passenger of a vehicle that had been stopped for a non-working light. Officer Ismael Mendez made the arrest.

On July 26, 2020 at 4:46 pm officers responded to the area of 247 Route 12 for a reported accident with injuries. Both vehicles in the accident were traveling East on Route 12. Prior to police arrival the driver of the striking vehicle, Cody J. Osadacz (Age 27) of Jamesburg, NJ and his passenger, Kyle J. Behen of Cranbury, NJ (Age 27) fled from the scene. Behen was located at 6:00 pm walking on Route 12. Osadacz turned himself in for processing on July 31. Osadacz was charged with Aggravated Assault with Bodily Injury, Eluding and Possession of Less than 50 Grams of Marijuana. Behen was charged with Eluding. The driver of the vehicle that had been struck was transported to Hunterdon Medical Center.

On July 29, 2020 at 12:15 pm Nicole L. Smith (Age 37) of Hainesport, NJ was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The vehicle she was operating was originally stopped for having a cracked windshield. Sgt. Robert Landolina made the arrest.
